Entry for the 2018 Alternative Hair International Visionary Award is now open: you have until 19th August to get your entries in.

Launched by Alternative Hair Global President, Anthony Mascolo, the International Visionary Award 2018is dedicated to searching out and showcasing new creative talent. With its own section during the Alternative Hair Show, the International Visionary Award has become one of the highlights of the evening. Last year's competition saw the highest ever number of entries from over 50 countries, in the 3 categories: Cut & Colour, Avant-Garde & Mens.
Finalists are selected from photographic entries submitted from all over the world, and are chosen by a panel of creative hairdressers including Anthony Mascolo. On the day of the show, each finalist prepares one model to be judged on the overall styling, makeup and hair. The winner is announced on stage and is invited to return the following year to participate in the main show.
After last year’s International Visionary Award Show, Anthony Mascolo said: “This competition becomes more exciting every year and the presentation of the finalists, within the Alternative Hair Show has become one of the highlights of the evening. I am inspired to see the work that is sent in. Entries have come from an unbelievable number of countries including most of Europe and Scandinavia, but also from Canada, Australia, Japan, the USA, Taiwan and Bermuda.”
Now in its 36th year, the Alternative Hair Show will take place at the magnificent Freemasons’ Hall in Covent Garden, London.This truly unique event presented by hairdressers, for hairdressers and dedicated to Fighting Leukaemia is a platform for the world’s leading artists and new talent, highlighting their creative collections and spectacular hair creations. The purpose of the show is to inspire and entertain, but importantly is also to raise funds for the Alternative Hair Charity Foundation supporting blood cancer charities in the UK and abroad. To date the charity has raised in excess of £12 Million towards successful research into childhood Leukaemia.
