On 14 November 2013, the Shiseido Professional Beauty Odyssey Hair Show kicked off with a red carpet reception featuring leading industry players, including Mr. Jean Philippe Charrier (Chief Officer of Professional Business Operations Divisions, SHISEIDO Co. Ltd.) and Mr. Pang Kam Chiu (ICD CHINA Chair Person), plus celebrities from the entertainment and fashion scene.
The audience was first dazzled by SHISEIDO PROFESSIONAL Creative Team, led by Tadashi Harada, 2-time winner of Japan Hairdresser of the Year. By using contrasting textures and colors, sophisticated yet delicate hairstyles came to life, evoking the theme of Nature. These versatile artists also handled the makeup and costumes to showcase the Teams strength in Total Beauty.
Part 1 Destruction and Regeneration
The contrasting colors and stunning visual impact of such powerful natural phenomena as lighting, thunder, storms, earthquakes were interpreted by the Team in creations that delivered breathtaking impact.
Part 2 Deep water, Birth
The mesmerizing blue of the sea was represented by the Team in long and floating hairstyles, evoking the graceful ondulations of jellyfish, enhanced by finger waves and beachy design textures.
Part 3 Flowers and Heaven
The blissful sun and flowers of a terrestrial paradise were portrayed in airy and colorful hairstyles on models wearing light and transparent costumes with sparkling gems.
Since 1977, SHISEIDO PROFESSIONAL Creative Team has distinguished itself by launching fashion brands in Paris and London, in additoin to holding beauty seminars and developing hairstyling products. Their objective is to create new fashion trends founded on a concept of total beauty.
Two more teams from Hong Kong, Beijing Hair Culture and Hair Corner, took a more dramatic approach to their presentations, respectively narrating a hairstyling story of insanity and staged mutants, a kingdom and vampires to demonstrate bravery in overcoming challenges in life.
Another highlight of the Hair Show was the 5 Hong Kong Finalists Award Presentation Ceremony of SHISEIDO PROFESSIONAL BEAUTY INNOVATOR AWARD 2013. As Future Beauty Innovators of the next generation, these 5 finalists will be attending SHISEIDO Beauty Congress next February, where one will be selected as the Grand Prix winner.
SHISEIDO PROFESSIONAL BEAUTY ODYSSEY Hair Show was one of the spotlight performances during the 18th edition of Cosmoprof Asia in Hong Kong. With 800 tickets sold in just a few days, it was unmistakably one of the most spectacular hair beauty events in Asia in recent years.
