The Technical Secretariat for the Giubileo Mondiale has confirmed at a press conference that the first-ever “'Giubileo Mondiale' of Hairdressers and Beauticians” will be held on Sunday 30th and Monday 31st October 2016 in Rome.
The October event, sponsored by the Committee of San Martino del Porres, the patron saint of barbers and hairdressers, is born out of the purpose of transmitting a message of hope to all those working in our industry.
The programme of events also incorporates the pilgrimage dedicated to St. Pietro per l'Angelus and its passage through the Porta Santa on Sunday at 10am. A mass will be held on the Monday at 9am in honour of the patron saint and the event will end at 11 with an expression of global unity including greetings by religious authorities, institutions and several distinguished guests.
“This anniversary is a unique and extraordinary event for the hair and beauty industry,” commented organisation spokesperson Giulio Bagni. “The announcement heralds an expression of reciprocal love and compassion for a craft which recognises beauty in all its forms,” added Ruggero Pallucchini, President of the Organising Committee.
