On the 4th April 2011, Aveda UK staff from Aveda Lifestyle Salons and Spas, Head Office and Aveda Beauty Advisors in our store locations participated in a global initiative. Aveda UK staff from Aveda Lifestyle Salons and Spas, Head Office and Aveda Beauty Advisors in our store locations participated in a global initiative. that acknowledges the daily struggle of nearly one billion people in the developing world, with a five mile walk — the average distance that women in developing countries walk to collect water each day.The walk started at 3pm at The Scoop, next to City Hall on the South Bank of the Thames and finished at Tower Bridge.
Lisa Snowdon, model and presenter, joined the walk and presented a cheque to WaterAid, our UK charity partner who facilitate clean water projects in Africa and Asia. Lisa says of the initiative, Please join me in supporting Aveda’s 2011 Earth Month campaign.
April each year for Aveda is Earth Month, whereby Aveda focuses on raising money for environmental causes. In the UK, Aveda partner with WaterAid, who transform lives the world over by improving access to safe water, hygiene and sanitation in some of the world’s poorest communities.
I am happy to support Aveda’s Walk for Water and today we hope to raise vital funds to help improve access to water a basic human right for thousands of people around the world in 2011. Lisa Snowdon
