For the GREENshowroom Fall/Winter 2011 collection, the styling concept linked classic with contemporary components to create an original look. “Green fashion doesn’t necessarily mean casual and boring… I had, therefore, created this classic look with a modern twist,” explains Bastian Casaretto.
So although the hair is dressed, it is never overwhelming. Green is always trendy, it doesn’t exclude glamour. As Jana Keller & Magdalena Schaffrin, founders for GREENshowroom explain, “Green fashion used to be confined to the “anti-fashion” corner. However, GREENshowroom is now showing to the world that the environmentally- and people-friendly garments can also be cool and highly fashionable.”
When it came to mongrels in common, the mood changed to match the concept of the collection. “Our collection was inspired by the TV series Dynasty and the forestry industry. We imagined one of the glamorous figures from the series taking a walk in her bathrobe through the forest in all her jewellery and makeup… Elegance that’s wearable – here at mongrels in common we’re always looking to strike that balance,” explained Christine Pluess and Livia Ximénez-Carillo of mongrels in common
Casaretto elaborated, “The mongrels in common hair style was inspired by textures that contrast with one another – smooth/sleek vs. wild/tousled. The pony tail at the back of the head is off-set and has been styled to wild effect.”
Bastian Casaretto joined Aveda just two years ago, but immediately became an important member of the Aveda network. He is part of the European and global artistic team, working backstage in shows and events, as well as a lead stylist at Berlin Fashion Week and Düsseldorf Trend and Fashion Days.
