A combination of business and creativity. The event confirms the important role in professional beauty.
More than 22,000 square metres of exhibition space organised in three distinct areas (cosmetics, business, retail) together with a large hall dedicated to the hair show: the 2016 edition of the MCB by Beauté Sélection was a huge success. Nearly 40,000 visitors showed up to see the latest trends presented during the show, interacting with 250 exhibitors (30% of which were international) and buying the latest innovations.
Interest in MCB by Beauté Sélection is growing, as demonstrated by the 12% increase of this year’s edition over last year. An important showcase for French companies that intend to flaunt their expertise to foreign professionals, and for foreign companies aiming to develop their reputation in Europe.

In just two days, some of the most important names in the sector performed for the hair show. La Barbière de Paris once again received accolades from the audients for the beards in the show dedicated to men entitled “Couture umana”. Sandrine Ruiz surprised everyone with a new collection dubbed “Vega” for Eugene Perma Professionnel: inspired by women’s rugby with unusual volumes, this is a futuristic collection that offers an image of strength and femininity.
Raphael Perrier, for Les Institutions de la Coiffure, proposed coiffures enriched with a strong message in favour of sustainable development on stage. Jerome Guézou Sebastien Bafcop e Florent DeBruxelles, with the team Angel Studio, set the main stage on fire with their show entitled “Tapis Rouge”, created for L'Oréal Professionnel. Jean-Michel Faretra , for Wella Professionals, brought another world to the stage, thanks to hairstyles, accessories and materials.
Likewise, just as much success was earned by the technical workshops: demonstrations of body painting arrived from the artistic team of Morgane Hilgers, colouring workshops were held by Guy Tang for Olaplex, technical shows were proposed by American Crew, and barbering inspirations were formulated by Eugene Perma Professionnel, the team of O’Barbershop and Men Stories.
Conferences and round tables enriched both days as well, including those presented by Les Institutions de la Coiffure on topics like health and environment, sustainable development, and the prevention of professional illnesses. Business approach was presented by Stéphane Amaru on the Uberizing the workplace and by Jean-Marie Knect on the profitability of a spa /wellness centre.
Other appointments at the fair were the Europe Cup, the European Hairstyling Championships, organised by the OMC – World Hairdressing Organisation, with about 1,000 international participants from 35 countries. “The mentor, Best Emergent Talent”, in co-production with Estetica, put eight young international hairstylists in the spotlight. The winner, Fabrizio Perissinotto, convinced the jury with his creativity and inventiveness. He won the privilege of performing for the first time in France for the Beauté Sélection to be held in Lyons in November and will be featured in a communication campaign in Estetica. And then What’s up in Paris Best Salon Award, in co-production with EsteticaDesign, awarded the prize for the best concept salon to L’Appartement de Christophe Nicolas Biot.
The next edition of MCB by Beauté Sélection will be held on 17 and 18 September 2017, at Pavilion 1, Porte de Versailles and will host the world hairdressing championship organised by OMC.
