Record-breaking numbers for Beautyworld Middle East 2013.
For its 18th edition, the fair enjoyed a 32% increase in visitor numbers, thus rendering it an exclusive business platform event. The Middle East represents a growing market for the beauty industry, as these figures show – 1,096 exhibitors from 52 countries; 26% added floorspace; 25,000 visitors from over 100 countries, particularly Iran, Saudi Arabia, India, Pakistan and Kuwait.
Ahmed Pauwels, CEO of Epoc Messe Frankfurt (organisers of Beautyworld Middle East) said: “This is a highly important international trade fair, which offers the industry great business opportunities and a strategic networking platform.”
The fair hosted 23 international pavilions, four of which were new entries – Poland, California, Bahrain and Morocco. The biggest pavilions included China, Turkey, France, Germany, Spain and Italy. In fact, the Italian pavilion expanded from 25 exhibitors in 2010 to 45 this year and covered a floorspace of 603 sq.m. – an increase of almost 80%.
As well as the four traditional sectors – Hair, Nails and Accessories; Cosmetics; Skincare and Fragrance; Machinery, Packaging and Equipment for salons and spas – this year there were also exclusive areas such as Beautyworld Middle East Boutique, a showcase for luxury brands. Madi International presented (for the eighth year running) the Walk of Beauty, whilst Nazih Group (organizer of the popular nails contest Nail It! By OPI) once again had a warm response from visitors.
