The glamourous Dorchester Hotel in London was the venue for the Fellowship for British Hairdressing’s Luncheon and Awards, topped off by the nomination of the F.A.M.E. Team members for 2013.
For young and emerging stylists, the F.A.M.E. Team is still considered the ultimate independent launch vehicle in the UK, as the Fellowship Acadamey of Merit and Excellence aims to develop and promote some of the most promising talents in the industry, granting a unique opportunity on the road to future platform stardom.
The new F.A.M.E. Team now consists of four extraordinary young hairdressers selected by a prestigious panel of industry experts:
William Ackerley from Electric Hairdressing, Brighton;
Joshua Goldworthy from Goldsworthy’s, Swindon;
Matthew Sutcliffe from Westrow, Leeds; and
Jake Unger from HOB Salons, London.
Matthew Sutcliffe commented, “When you know your trade, you can be confident about what you do… I believe the F.A.M.E. Team experience will help to enhance both technical expertise and session skills; and hopes that being mentored by key industry figures will help me emulate the careers of my icons including Sam McKnight, Guido and Angelo Seminara.”
Jake Unger was also enthusiastic, observing, “Winning a place on the F.A.M.E. Team is the realisation of a career-long dream, I believe it is the perfect platform for showcasing talent and learning from some of the industry’s biggest names. This, combined with the influence and inspiration of the other F.A.M.E. Team members, it offers the ultimate opportunity to improve and develop skills and techniques beyond compare.”
Now it is up to such masters as Bruce Masefield (UK Creative Director of Sassoon), Artistic Director and Bruno Marc Giamattei from Marc Antoni (The Fellowship of British Hairdressing’s Hairdresser of the Year), F.A.M.E. Team Manager, to hone the skills of these promising young artists, spurring them to achieve new heights in their career.
