Italy-bound, OMC Antigua holds fund-raising shows

Not-so young models take the stage with OMC graduates and pros.

For the first time ever, OMC Antigua held a show featuring models 40-something and up on April 2011. There was a total of 30 female models in 5 categories: Fantasy, Trend cut, Day Wear, Evening Wear, and Wedding. Susette Gregory, Jamaude Barnes, and three other technicians worked together on stage with Danella Phillip-Raeburn, National President of Organisation Mondiale Coiffure Antigua & Berbuda in creating the designs for “mature” beauties, the eldest of which was 70 years old.

The show was televised three times on a local Antiguan television station, gaining public acclaim and exceeding all expectations. It is now expected to become an annual event. The purpose of these shows is to raise funds to participate in OMC Italy in 2012.

OMC designs were also displayed at the annual graduation ceremony held during December 30th 2010. Danella Phillip-Raeburn (in the black gown) created the green and orange design. The red one was done by Two alumnae, Jamaude Barnes and Althea Carty, created the read design while yet another alum, Susette Gregory, designed the floral dress with the short trend cut.
